For the last 40 years, San Francisco City Guides leads free historical walking tours throughout San Francisco and its neighborhoods. There are over 70 scheduled tours offered each week lead by 300 trained volunteer guides.
For the Bastille day Festival, our partners at San Francisco City Guides are offering 3 great free walking tours of the San Francisco French Quarters which will take place on Saturday, July 16th. You can register for the tours through the links below.
1850s Paris of the Pacific

Everyone in France heard the rumors. Or saw the news reports “of gold mines…fabulous riches awaiting only the hands of miners to be picked up.” Some packed their bags and set off for California. These French left their mark on the culture of the booming city. The French influenced society, especially in food and fashion. Without them, it’s hard to imagine San Francisco becoming our sophisticated, cosmopolitan metropolis.
We will walk through the heart of Gold Rush San Francisco and learn the stories of some of the thousands of French who influenced the City’s development with restaurants, bakeries, shops, laundries, banks and bordellos. From the Gold Rush to today, San Francisco has been the “Paris of the Pacific!"
1850S San Francisco: Paris of the Pacific - Three free walking tours in English are offered by our partner

Touring San Francisco and the wine county in a sidecar provides a unique experience that few have tried. You and your spouse, family member, or friend will have easy access to the main sites of the city with the guidance of a personal tour guide.
Come and meet Jerome and his sidecars at the festival. He will be next to the vintage Citroen cars!
